Partner Spotlight: William Randolph Hearst Foundation
For more than 10 years, the William Randolph Hearst Foundation has been a generous partner to Food & Friends. During that time, the Foundation has committed nearly $400,000 to providing meals and nutrition counseling to children. For the parents of children living with life-challenging illnesses, our role in delivering healthy meals that are appetizing to young, often picky, eaters is a vital service. In addition, the Foundation’s generosity, along with others, ensures that we can also deliver nutritious meals to the children of sick clients, further relieving stress associated with providing and preparing meals for the household. Most recently, the William Randolph Hearst Foundation made a $100,000 grant to sustain our children’s services at a time when many parents, particularly those who are ill, are facing economic challenges, making our services even more necessary.
Families confronted with the diagnosis of a life-challenging illness often face financial and emotional hurdles, especially when there are children in the household. We are grateful for the generosity of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation in helping the children we serve. |
